Planning for the ‘Take 12 Trips’ Challenge

A couple days ago I was scrolling through Pinterest and I stumbled upon this post. In this article, Clare from Need Another Holiday urges us to join her in the ‘Take 12 Trips’ challenge over the next 12 months.

I thought: hey, what better month than January to begin a 12 month challenge? I’m in.

What is it?

The rules are simple: over the next 12 months, make the effort to take at least 12 trips. It can range from exploring your own city, a short weekend getaway, or even an overseas holiday. Whatever, as long as you get out and explore.

Being a blog that primarily focuses on full-time work and part time travel, I absolutely loved the idea of a ‘take 12 trips’ challenge. I’m also taking this as an opportunity to break the misconception that traveling is only for the rich/privileged or for people who don’t have to adhere to small annual paid time off. With a little bit of planning and budgeting, joining ‘take 12 trips’ is totally doable.

Unfortunately, it is expensive.

Taking 12 trips can definitely takes its toll on your wallet. The idea is to find the best deals out there by visiting destinations during their off or shoulder season.

Fortunately, I’ve put together a list of budget destinations according to month.

Now that you have the information to help you create a budget, get to planning your next 12 trips! I’m joining the challenge and you can follow along my travels here on the blog, on instagram, Facebook, and twitter. Are you up for the challenge? Comment below!
